Production capacities of the Baku Deepwater Jackets Factory named after Heydar Aliyev owned by SOCAR will be doubled by early next year, a source from oil and gas market of Azerbaijan told Trend.
According to the source, works on the expansion and upgrade of the plant are carried out intensively.
"Upon completion of the works, the production capacity of the plant will increase from 60 to 120 thousand tons of steelwork per year," the source said.
Support blocks are currently being built for two platforms, piles and underwater structures in the framework of the second phase of the development of the gas condensate field "Shah Deniz" in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea.
The Deepwater Jackets Factory named after Heydar Aliyev is managed by the joint venture Bos Shelf, co-owned by SOCAR. The total production capacity of the factory is 60,000 tons of steelworks per year.
