The Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan holds the regular 36th meeting of the Commission with the participation of representatives of state fishery departments of Azerbaijan, Iran, Russia and Turkmenistan.
For three days, from 21 to 23 June this year, the representatives of the Caspian littoral states plan hearing reports on the results of research works carried out in the Caspian Sea in 2014-2015, on the basis of which they will be developed joint recommendations for the conservation of the marine biological resources of the Caspian sea and discuss the general guidelines for the allowable catch of aquatic bioresources in the Caspian sea in 2016.
In addition the parties will be informed about the measures taken for the artificial reproduction of fish resources, including sturgeon and on measures taken to combat poaching.
It should be noted that as a result of the initiative of Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev the Caspian States developed and signed the Agreement on the Conservation of the Caspian Sea water biological resources, in which the Commission has acquired the intergovernmental status.
To date, the Agreement was ratified by all states and entered into force on 24 May 2016.
As a result it is planned to sign the minutes of the 36th meeting of the Commission with recommendations on measures to save the water biological resources of the Caspian Sea.
