Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan - Minister of Agriculture Askar Myrzakhmetov held a meeting in a video conference mode on agricultural issues of Atyrau region.
One of the first issues to consider was poaching in the Caspian Sea; it negatively affects the activities of two sturgeon fish-breeding plants.
Another important issue was discussed during the meeting. Previously, quotas for sturgeon fishing were issued for scientific purposes. Now, by the order of the Minister the quota issue was stopped and sturgeon catch was prohibited. This decision is aimed to preserve and increase the number of rare fish.
